Dialectical Behavior Therapy Clinician

LakeWest DBT Center is a clinician-owned, small business mindset, private practice dedicated to helping individuals with emotional and behavioral difficulties through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Our center in Westlake, Ohio offers evidence-based treatment and a supportive and collaborative work environment for our team. Your role:
As a DBT therapist at LakeWest DBT Center, you will work with a team of dedicated therapists to provide comprehensive DBT treatment to our clients. You will be responsible for conducting individual therapy sessions, leading DBT skills groups, participating in team consultations, and completing thorough and timely progress notes.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial intake assessments to determine client's appropriateness for DBT treatment or other evidence-based treatment plan.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions following the DBT model
- Facilitate Adolescent DBT Multifamily Skills Groups per the Miller & Rathus (2014) Adolescent Manual, Adult DBT Skills Group per the
Linehan Manual (2015), and other DBT-related groups of the clinician’s interest.
- Attend weekly team consultations to enhance therapist adherence and capability
- Provide telephone consultation to clients in a full-model DBT program
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and communication with other team members
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to strengthen DBT skills and techniques
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Current and active license to practice therapy in the state of Ohio OR pre-licensed and able to work under supervision at our center.
- Experience with behavior theory and therapies
- Autonomy and ambition, balanced with collaboration, vulnerability, and teamwork
- Willingness to do case conceptualizations several times per year, record therapy sessions for supervision and team review to monitor
adherence, and a general openness around receiving support and feedback for cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathic and non-judgmental approach to working with clients
- Availability to work 1-2 evenings
- Prior training in DBT is NOT mandatory! Comprehensive training is included!

-The position allows for the clinician to maintain a non-DBT caseload to provide other evidence-based treatments in line with the clinician’s specialization and interests.
