Child & Adolescent Therapy

The clinicians at LakeWest DBT Center encourage parent and guardian involvement while maintaining an appropriate level of privacy for the client. A number of the interventions utilized in treatment include family or important others from the environment and having loved ones involved helps the young person feel supported while making changes. Older adolescents come to appointments on occasion without an adult present and the LakeWest DBT clinicians will collaborate with the family to continue communication.  Limits of confidentiality are determined early in treatment to ensure that the family and client feel comfortable.
